Overview
The 03001 measured wind speed and direction. It interfaced directly with Campbell data loggers; no signal conditioning required.
Technical Description
The 03001 Wind Sentry Set was replaced with the 03002 Wind Sentry Set on January 9, 2009. The 03001 and 03002 use the same vane and anemometer. However the 03002 includes a junction box allowing one cable to connect the entire wind set to the data logger. The retired 03001 used two cables—one for the anemometer and one for the wind vane.

3/4 x 1 in. Nu-Rail Crossover Fitting
This NU-RAIL Slip-on Offset Crossover fitting attaches to one end of CM202, CM204, or CM206 Crossarm. It provides essentially the same functionality as the CM220."
OrderableCM221
Right-Angle Mounting Kit
The CM221 mounts a pipe or tube at 90° to another pipe or tube. It is typically used to attach a sensor with a vertical pipe (including most wind sensors) to a crossarm. The cast aluminum, right-angle mounting bracket has 3.8 cm (1.5 in.) U-bolts and hardware and will accommodate tubing with a 1- to 1.5-in. outer diameter.
OrderableCM216
Sensor Mounting Kit for Top of Tripod Mast
The CM216 Sensor Mount provides a connection point for this sensor to be attached to the top of a stainless steel CM110, CM115, or CM120 Tripod.

Replacement Parts
(7)03101CBL
Replacement Cable for the Wind Sentry Anemometer
The 03101CBL cable attaches to the anemometer. It consists of a 22 AWG cable with a Santoprene jacket and a connector. The 03101CBL can easily be replaced by the user.
Orderable03301CBL
Replacement Cable for Wind Sentry Vane
The 03301CBL cable attaches the vane. It consists of a 22 AWG cable with a Santoprene jacket and a connector. The 03301CBL can easily be replaced by the user.
Orderable4609
Replacement Wind Speed Cup Assembly for 03001 or 03101
The 4609 3-cup anemometer assembly can be easily replaced by the user.
Orderable4610
Replacement Assembly for 03001 or 03301 Wind Vane
Replacement of the 4610 Vane Assembly is difficult as it requires calibration of potentiometer after replacement. Returning the sensor to the factory is recommended. Please request assistance.
Orderable6700
Replacement Potentiometer for 03001 or 03301 Vane
Replacement of the 6700 Potentiometer is difficult because it requires the potentiometer be soldered into place, and the potentiometer needs to be recalibrated after replacement. Returning the sensor to the factory is recommended. Please request assistance.
Orderable6701
Replacement Wind Speed Coil for 03001 or 03101
Replacement of the 6701 Anemometer Coil is difficult; it requires that the coil be soldered into place and the sensor be recalibrated after replacement. Returning the sensor to the factory is recommended. Please request assistance.
Orderable6702
Replacement Wind Speed Flange Bearing for 03001, 03002, 03101, 03301, or 05305 (two required)
The 6702 provides a shielded bearing with oil lube. The bearings can be replaced by the user. Two are required.

Data Logger Considerations
The anemometer is measured by the PulseCount instruction in CRBasic, and by Instruction 3 (Pulse Count) in Edlog. The wind vane is measured by the BrHalf Instruction in CRBasic, and by Instruction 4 (Excite-Delay-SE) in Edlog. The measurements are typically processed for output with the Wind Vector Instruction (not present in the CR500 or CR9000).
The 03001's anemometer consumes one pulse count channel on the data logger. The Wind Vane requires one single-ended channel and access to an excitation channel (the excitation channel can be shared with other high impedance sensors).
