The CRVW3-NE is set up and configured, and data is collected using the USB connection to a PC. No wireless communications are possible with the –NA option. If wireless communications will be possible in the future, the CRVW3-NE should be ordered with them, as it can’t be upgraded in the future.
-RF407 -RF407 w/900MHz Radio
A 0.25 watt RF407 radio is integrated into the CRVW3-NE. The integrated radio is housed in the enclosure and allows for easier setup of communications and networks. The radio supports PakBus communications as a node and can be set up as a PakBus repeater for larger networks. The radio is configured primarily for operation in North America (frequency range: 902 to 928 MHz). Requires the purchase of an antenna.
-RF412 -RF412 w/920MHz Radio
A 0.25 watt RF412 radio is integrated into the CRVW3-NE. The integrated radio is housed in the enclosure and allows for easier setup of communications and networks. The radio supports PakBus communications as a node and can be set up as a PakBus repeater for larger networks. The radio is configured primarily for operation in Australia and New Zealand (frequency range: 915 to 928 MHz). Requires the purchase of an antenna.
-RF422 -RF422 w/868MHz Radio
A 0.025 watt RF422 radio is integrated into the CRVW3-NE. The integrated radio is housed in the enclosure and allows for easier setup of communications and networks. The radio supports PakBus communications as a node and can be set up as a PakBus repeater for larger networks. The radio is configured primarily for operation in Europe and some of Asia (frequency range: 863 to 870 MHz). Requires the purchase of an antenna.

With the -PT option, the cable terminates in pigtails that connect directly to the datalogger.
-PW -PW w/Pre-Wire Connector
With the -PW option, the cable terminates in a connector that attaches to a pre-wired enclosure.
-C -C w/ ET/CS110 Connector
With the -C option, the cable terminates in a connector that attaches to a CS110 Electric Field Meter or an ET-series weather station. This is equivalent to the -LC version available for some sensors.

-SM -SM Std Mounting Kit
Standard mounting to allow solar panel to be mounted directly to the leg of a tower or crossarm.
-EM -EM Extended Mounting Kit
Extended Mounting Kit allows the solar panel to be mounted on a tower or crossarm that puts the panel approximately 25.4 cm (10 in.) from the mast. This reduces shadows on the solar panel from other components or guy wires, which negatively affects the performance of the solar panel. It does, however, increase the wind load on the system.

The 15731 is a unity gain (0 dBd), straight, omnidirectional antenna that attaches directly to the bottom of the CRVW3-NE (antenna cable not required).

Used outdoors, this high-gain (6 dBd), directional (Yagi) antenna has a narrow beam width that requires precise aiming. Its higher gain makes it useful for communicating over longer distances.

The 14221 has the highest gain (3 dBd) of our omnidirectional antennas. It is suitable for a repeater CRVW3-NE station where you need to communicate with multiple stations located in different directions. Its rugged FM2 antenna mounts will accommodate a vertical pipe with an outside diameter of up to 6.5 cm (2.5 in.). The antenna has a Type N female connector and requires an antenna cable to connect it to the radio.
COAXRPSMA-L
 
COAXRPSMA-L Antenna Cable LMR195 w/Reverse Polarity SMA & Type N Male Connector
 
Either this cable or the COAXNTN-L is required when using the 14201 or 14221 antennas. The COAXRPSMA-L is an LMR 195 cable that terminates in a Type N male connector on the antenna end and a Reverse Polarity SMA (RPSMA) connector on the transceiver end. It is recommended for applications where the cable length is less than 10 feet. Shrink tape (pn 21212) is recommended to protect external antenna connections when antenna cables and larger antennas are used.

COAXNTN-L Antenna Cable RG8 w/2 Type N Male Connectors
 
Either this cable or the COAXRPSMA-L is required when using the 14201 or 14221 antennas. The COAXNTN-L is a low-loss RG8 coaxial cable that requires the 14462 surge suppressor to connect it to the CRVW3-NE. The COAXNTN-L/14462 combination is recommended over the COAXRPSMA-L when the antenna cable is longer than 10 feet (as measured between the transceiver and the antenna) or when the CRVW3-NE is used in an environment susceptible to lightning or electrostatic buildup. Shrink tape (pn 21212) is recommended to protect external antenna connections when antenna cables and larger antennas are used.

The 31314 is an RF surge protection kit with flange mounting bracket. It may be flange-mounted to an enclosure backplate or bulkhead-mounted through an enclosure wall. This 10 ft roll of 1 in. wide black self-vulcanizing tape can help protect the connection of outdoor antennas. After connecting the coaxial cable to the antenna, wrap the tape around the connectors that are exposed to the environment.

The 27555 is a USB Type A to Micro B, male-to-male cable, 6 to 6.5 ft long. It connects devices using the Micro B interface to a USB port on a computer.

The 15598 powers the clock and SRAM when the primary 12 Vdc power supply is not connected. This 3 V lithium coin cell battery needs to be periodically replaced. Campbell Scientific recommends replacing the battery every five years.

The 32150 battery power cable connects a rechargeable battery to a CRVW3. The battery cable can be used in combination with either a rechargeable battery or a solar panel. If non-rechargeable batteries are connected using the 32150 cable, a solar panel or charge source should not be connected.
