Overview

Our RAWS-H was designed to allow you to upgrade an existing Handar weather station to a Campbell Scientific RAWS system.

A RAWS-H station consists of a CR1000 datalogger and 12 Vdc battery, housed and protected in an aluminum environmental enclosure that features a connector panel compatible with Handar sensors. Our RAWS-H station is compatible with all of the communication equipment our other RAWS products can use, such as telephones, digital cellular transceivers, and radios.

Customers can replace a Handar Data Collection Platform with the RAWS-H enclosure and continue to use their existing Handar sensors and tower. The RAWS Handar connector panel has connectors for attaching Handar sensors (wind speed and direction, air temperature and relative humidity, precipitation and solar radiation). A wiring panel is provided that allows the attachment of additional sensors for measurements like barometric pressure, fuel moisture or temperature, snow depth, or stream flow.

Detailed Description

The RAWS-H allows customers who own a Handar Data Collection Platform to upgrade to a Campbell Scientific Remote Automated Weather Station, while using the sensors and tower that they already own. The RAWS-H contains an aluminum 14- by 18-in. environmental enclosure, a CR1000M Module, a 12-V sealed rechargeable battery, a CH100 regulator, a Handar sensor connector panel, a wiring panel, and a CR1000KD Keyboard Display.

Handar sensors that measure wind speed and direction, air temperature and relative humidity, precipitation, and solar radiation can be attached to the Handar sensor connector panel. The RAWS-H provides a wiring panel for attaching additional sensors that measure barometric pressure, fuel moisture or temperature, snow depth, or stream flow.

The RAWS-H can communicate via radio. For direct communications, the CR1000KD Keyboard Display can be used to query the station. Additional communication equipment can be added to the RAWS-H.

Campbell Scientific will develop customized Handar sensor programming for a nominal fee.
