This product is no longer available and has been replaced by: SDM-SIO4A. Some accessories, replacement parts, or services may still be available.

Common Accessories

Newer SDM-SIO4s are configured as DTE (easily discerned in that they have male connectors). As most peripherals are configured as DCE, the 10873 straight-though cable is used.
CABLE5CBL-L 5-Conductor 22AWG Cable w/Drain
This cable connects the SDM-SIO4 to the datalogger. The CABLE5CBL-L is a 22 AWG, five conductor cable with a Santoprene® jacket and an aluminum mylar shield. A 1-ft cable length should be sufficient when both datalogger and SDM-SIO4 are housed within an ENC12/14 enclosure; a 2-ft length may be required if the datalogger and SDM-SIO4 are housed at opposite ends of an ENC16/18 enclosure.

CRBasic dataloggers should use the SDMSpeed instruction if the cable length is longer than 20 ft. The maximum recommended length for the CR7 is 600 ft. For other Edlog dataloggers, the maximum recommended cable length is 20 ft.
CABLE5CBL-L Options - show details
-L ft per cable

Allowed values: 1-1000 ft, increments of 1 ft

Cable Termination Options - show details
-PT -PT w/Tinned Wires
With the -PT option, the cable terminates in pigtails that connect directly to the datalogger.
-PW -PW w/Pre-Wire Connector
Choose this option if you are using this cable with a pre-wired enclosure.
This interface is a female fitting that allows wiring of a serial device with stripped and tinned leads to a serial port.

Other Accessories

If you have an older SDM-SIO4 (with female connectors), then the SDM-SIO4 ports are configured as DCE, and you will need this null modem cable for connection to the peripherals.
