Common Accessories

The 13958 consists of two brackets and four screws. This mounting kit allows the SDM-CAN to be fastened to a slot in a CR9000(X)'s chassis. The bracket that comes attached to SDM-CAN must be removed prior to mounting the SDM-CAN to the 13958's metal brackets. An SDM-CAN, fitted with the 13958, occupies one slot in the CR9000(X) chassis.
CABLE5CBL-L 5-Conductor 22AWG Cable w/Drain
This cable connects the SDM-CAN to the datalogger. The CABLE5CBL-L is a 22 AWG, five conductor cable with a Santoprene jacket and an aluminum Mylar shield. A 1-ft cable length should be sufficient when both datalogger and SDM-CAN are housed within an ENC12/14 enclosure; a 2-ft length may be required if the datalogger and SDM-CAN are housed at opposite ends of an ENC16/18 enclosure.

CRBasic dataloggers should use the SDMSpeed instruction if the cable length is longer than 20 ft. The maximum recommended length for the CR7 is 600 ft. For other Edlog dataloggers, the maximum recommended cable length is 20 ft.

Replacement Parts

The 13657 is a 6-foot cable that terminates in DB9 female connectors on both ends. It's used to connect the SDM-CAN's RS-232 port with a PC. A PC running terminal emulator software can provide SDM-CAN status, troubleshooting, and network monitoring.
The 6616 can be used to connect the SDM-CAN with the CANbus network. The CAN Hi, Lo, and ground wires attach to this 3-terminal removable connector.
These screws, along with the 6044 grommets, are commonly used together to secure our equipment to the backplates of our enclosures.
