Every CR850 is tested and guaranteed to perform within published specifications over the standard temperature range. Units are tested and shipped to the standard temperature range unless an extended range is specified. Any internal batteries are not tested or guaranteed across the entire standard temperature range.
-XT -XT -30 to +80C
When ordered, the CR850 is tested and guaranteed to perform over the extended temperature range. Analog accuracies are derated approximately two times over the published specifications. The extended testing covers the -30° to +80°C range. Any internal batteries are not tested or guaranteed across the entire extended temperature range.

-SW -SW Standard 3yr Warranty
At the time of purchase, the CR850 includes a standard warranty of 36 months. See our full warranty policy in the CR800/CR850 manual for the terms and conditions of this warranty.
-XW -XW 4yr Warr Extension
Our Extended Warranty adds 48 months to the standard 36 month warranty, bringing the total warranty period to 84 months. The extended warranty may be purchased only at the time of original product purchase. It may NOT be "added later." Except for the increased coverage length, the same terms and conditions apply to the extended warranty as apply to the standard warranty.

ALK7
 

The ALK7 is suitable for the following types of systems:

  • Low-current-drain systems
  • Systems that are visited periodically to replace batteries
  • Low-current-drain systems that are installed temporarily

Note: The ALK7 does not ship with the required 8 D cell batteries. The batteries must be ordered separately or supplied by the user.

SC32B
 
This Optically Isolated Interface is used to attach an AC-powered PC with the CR850. The SC32B includes a cable for connecting with the datalogger's CS I/O port, and includes another cable for connecting with the PC's 9-pin serial port. Customers who want to connect with the PC's USB port instead of the 9-pin serial port should use the SC-USB interface.
SC-USB
 
The SC-USB Optically Isolated Interface provides similar functionality as the SC32B, except it connects with the PC's USB port instead of the PC's 9-pin serial port.
17394
 
The 17394 interface cable provides a USB connector on one end and a 9-pin male RS-232 connector on the other end. The USB connector attaches to the USB port on a PC, and the RS-232 connector attaches to the RS-232 port on the CR850. The cable length is 6 ft (2 m).
SC110
 
The SC110 consists of two cables, each 2 feet (0.6 m) in length. By having two cables, connection of either an RS-232 DCE or DTE device is supported, depending on the cable used.
SC-CPI

The SC-CPI allows the CR850 to communicate with a CDM.

The 27373 facilitates connecting multiple wires into the same terminal, such as for SDI-12.

Replacement Parts

3768
 
The 3768 is shipped attached to the CR850. This green, plug-in power connector provides screw terminals for connecting the 12 V and GND wires of the datalogger's power supply. The 3768 may be purchased to replace a lost or damaged power connector.

The 13519 lithium battery powers the clock and SRAM when the primary 12 Vdc power supply is not connected.

The 10645 is the screw used in the ground lug.
 
The datalogger is calibrated to meet ISO/IEC Guide 17025 Requirements and a two-page calibration certificate is shipped.

The 6554 Single 0.16-Unit Silica Desiccant Pack is a very small package used to desiccate the inside of the CR850. Campbell Scientific suggests replacing this desiccant when the lithium battery is replaced.

These grommets are commonly used with the 505 screws to secure our equipment to the backplates of our enclosures.
8125
 
The 8125 is a small, flat-bladed screwdriver that is extremely useful for opening the guillotine terminals on our dataloggers and measurement control devices.
1113
 
The 1113 is used to attach sensor leads to screw terminals.
10873
 
The 10873 is a serial cable that is useful for connecting the RS-232 port of the datalogger to the 9-pin RS-232 port of a computer. The cable is six feet long.
3315
 
This type T, 5 in. thermocouple is attached to a differential channel on several of our datalogger wiring panels when the datalogger is shipped. A 3315 may be ordered to replace a thermocouple that has become lost or damaged.
505
 
These screws, along with the 6044 grommets, are commonly used together to secure our equipment to the backplates of our enclosures.

Services

 
The 18635 requires an RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific. When it is ordered, we will recalibrate a CR800 or CR850 to meet original specifications. Recalibration includes standard temperature testing (-25° to +50°C). Before and after calibration sheets are supplied with the datalogger.
 
If specified, a two-page calibration certificate is shipped with the CR850.
 
Retesting is available only for individual units that have previously passed Extended Temperature Testing. Retesting also requires concurrent purchase of recalibration. An RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific is required.
 
Every CR850 is tested and guaranteed to perform within published specifications over the standard temperature range. Units are tested to standard operating range unless extended testing (-55° to +85°C) is specified. For extended temperature range testing, analog accuracies are derated approximately two times over published specifications. Extended testing covers the -55° to +85°C range. Batteries are not temperature tested.
 
The 34154 provides factory recalibration of the CR800 or CR850 to meet original specifications, then sends the recalibrated datalogger to be validated by a certifying body that is A2LA accredited to the ISO 17025 standards.

This service requires an RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific. The factory recalibration includes comprehensive testing of all datalogger functions over its standard temperature range (-25° to +50°C) and the replacement of the internal lithium battery and desiccant packs. During testing, the datalogger’s operating system is updated, and all settings are restored to factory defaults unless otherwise requested. Upon completion of the factory calibration, the datalogger is sent to the A2LA accredited certifying body referenced above for calibration validation.
