Every CR1000 is tested and guaranteed to perform within published specifications over the standard temperature range. Units are tested and shipped to the standard temperature range unless an extended range is specified. Any internal batteries are not tested or guaranteed across the entire standard temperature range.
-XT -XT -55 to +85C
When ordered, the CR1000 is tested and guaranteed to perform over the extended temperature range. Analog accuracies are derated approximately two times over the published specifications. The extended testing covers the -55° to +85°C range. Any internal batteries are not tested or guaranteed across the entire extended temperature range.

Common Accessories

17324
 
This insulated terminal cover reduces thermal gradients across the analog inputs of the CR1000 wiring panel. The 17324 is typically used for thermocouple measurements.
CR1000KD
 
The CR1000KD is a portable keyboard and display screen for our CR1000 dataloggers. It allows you to check the datalogger's status, display or plot sensor readings and stored values, and enter numeric data or change port/flag state. One CR1000KD may be carried from station to station in a datalogger network.
CD100
 
Overview The CD100 is a mountable display with a keypad for datalogger data entry and display. It has a vacuum flourescent display for responsive use through a very wide operating temperature range. Its operation is the same as the CR1000KD.
ALK7
 

The ALK7 is suitable for the following types of systems:

  • Low-current-drain systems
  • Systems that are visited periodically to replace batteries
  • Low-current-drain systems that are installed temporarily

Note: The ALK7 does not ship with the required 8 D cell batteries. The batteries must be ordered separately or supplied by the user.

SC32B
 
The SC32B is one of two devices recommended for communication to an ac-powered PC. The SC32B Optically Isolated Interface is used to connect the CS I/O port on a datalogger with the RS-232 port on a PC. This interface converts the RS-232 voltage levels of the computer to the CMOS levels of the datalogger. It also isolates the electrical system of the computer from the datalogger, thereby protecting against ground loop, normal static discharge, and noise.
SC-USB
 
The SC-USB is one of two devices recommended for communication to an ac-powered PC. The SC-USB allows Campbell Scientific dataloggers to communicate directly with computers that have a USB interface. The SC-USB is optically isolated, which helps eliminate noise pickup associated with PC power supplies and ground connections. The SC-USB can be used in place of an SC32B interface.
17394
 
The 17394 is used with the SC32B. The 17394 is a six-foot interface cable fitted with a USB connector on one end and a 9-pin male RS-232 connector on the other end.
SC110
 
The SC110 consists of two cables to connect a datalogger with RS-232 DCE and DTE devices.
SC-CPI
 
SC-CPI Datalogger Serial to CPI Interface
 
The SC-CPI is needed if CDMs are being used. The SC-CPI is an interface between the serial port of the CR1000 and our Campbell distributed modules (CDMs). The CDMs use the CAN peripheral interface (CPI), and the SC-CPI allows the datalogger to connect to the CDM's CPI port.

CR1000WP Wiring Panel
 
The CR1000WP provides a black, anodized aluminum wiring panel with "CR1000WP" labeled in white. It may be purchased to replace a lost or damaged wiring panel. A complete CR1000 datalogger requires the CR1000WP to be connected to a CR1000M module.

The 13519 fits inside of the CR1000 module. This lithium battery powers the clock and SRAM when the primary 12 Vdc power supply is not connected. The 13519 can be replaced by the user; the process is illustrated in the CR1000 Operator's Manual.
3768
 
The 3768 is shipped attached to the CR1000. This green, plug-in power connector provides screw terminals for connecting the 12 V and GND wires of the datalogger's power supply. The 3768 may be purchased to replace a lost or damaged power connector.
6554
 
This desiccant pack fits inside of the CR1000 module. The 6554 is generally replaced when the internal lithium battery is replaced.
8125
 
The 8125 is a small, flat-bladed screwdriver that is extremely useful for opening the guillotine terminals on our dataloggers and measurement control devices.
10873
 
The 10873 is a serial cable that is useful for connecting the RS-232 port of the datalogger to the 9-pin RS-232 port of a computer. The cable is six feet long.
3315
 
This type T, 5 in. thermocouple is attached to a differential channel on several of our datalogger wiring panels when the datalogger is shipped. A 3315 may be ordered to replace a thermocouple that has become lost or damaged.

These screws, along with the 6044 grommets, are commonly used together to secure our equipment to the backplates of our enclosures.

Services

 
The 17749 requires an RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific. When ordered, we recalibrate the CR1000 to meet original specifications. Recalibration includes standard temperature testing (-25° to +50°C). Before and after calibration sheets are supplied with the CR1000.
 
The 16131 orders the two-page calibration certificate.
 
Retesting is available only for individual units that have previously passed Extended Temperature Testing. Retesting also requires concurrent purchase of recalibration. An RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific is required.
 
If you have a large group of individuals who require standard or custom training, it may be cost-effective for us to come to you. This class includes 4 days of training on the CR1000 and LoggerNet. One Applications Engineer conducts the training (5 people maximum). Our travel expenses within the continental United States are included, as are use of dataloggers, computers, software, sensors, and instructional materials. Our training materials are shipped in cases that contain 3 training set-ups per case; we have four cases available for training.
 
This class includes 4 days of training on the CR1000 and LoggerNet. Two Applications Engineers conduct the training (11 people maximum). Our travel expenses within the continental United States are included, as are use of dataloggers, computers, software, sensors, and instructional materials. Our training materials are shipped in cases that contain 3 training set-ups per case; we have four cases available for training.
 
We offer training courses at our factory in Logan, Utah. Price includes 4 days of instruction on the CR1000 Datalogger and LoggerNet software, and allows the use of training computers, dataloggers, and facilities. Travel and accommodations are NOT included. Lunch will be provided by CSI on each day of class.
 
The 34152 provides factory recalibration of the CR1000 to meet original specifications, then sends the recalibrated datalogger to be validated by a certifying body that is A2LA accredited to the ISO 17025 standards.

This service requires an RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific. The factory recalibration includes comprehensive testing of all datalogger functions over its standard temperature range (-25° to +50°C) and the replacement of the internal lithium battery and desiccant packs. During testing, the datalogger’s operating system is updated, and all settings are restored to factory defaults unless otherwise requested. Upon completion of the factory calibration, the datalogger is sent to the A2LA accredited certifying body referenced above for calibration validation.
