The LS17798 is a microprocessor chip for the CSAT3 and holds version 4.0 embedded code. Version 4.0 is not as sensitive has version 3.0, which allows for more robust operation during precipitation events. It also has greater resolution at higher temperatures. If a network has standardized on version 4.0, it is possible to replace another version of the microprocessor chip in the CSAT3 with the LS17798. Upon replacement, a new factory calibration of the CSAT3 is required. An RMA (Returned Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific is required.
