The LS17797 is a microprocessor chip for the CSAT3 and holds version 3.0 embedded code. Version 3.0 has high sensitivity to signal recognition and error conditions, but it does not perform as well as version 4.0 in precipitation. If a network has standardized on version 3.0, it is possible to replace another version of the microprocessor chip in the CSAT3 with the LS17797. Upon replacement, a new factory calibration of the CSAT3 is required. An RMA (Return Material Authorization) from Campbell Scientific is required.
