The 34296 cable, used with the CS140 Background Luminance Sensor, forces communications to RS-232 38400 baud, and sensor id “0.” The CS140 continues to draw power from the existing power source. After the sensor is removed from its power source, the sensor returns to its previous communication address and settings.

The sensor continues to draw power from the existing source. When installed, the existing communication path is disconnected, and communication via the flying lead is forced to RS-232, 38400 bd with a sensor ID of “0.”

The 34296 cable is only compatible with the CS140. Although the CS125 and CS120A have a similar cable, these cables are not interchangeable.
