The 221 (pn 2030) was a CR21 version of the 227 soil moisture block. It consisted of a cylindrical gypsum block and blocking capacitors in the sensor's lead that minimized galvanic degradation of sensor and measurement errors due to ground loops. Standard lead length was 20 ft.
