The 32218 LI200R Replacement Sensor Head has a different calibration value than what is presently used in the field and what is written on the sensor cable. Remember to update your program with the new multiplier to match the new head. When replacing the sensor head, do not leave the bottom of the sensor assembly uncovered for long periods in the field. If the sensor head cannot be swapped out immediately, cover the sensor base using pn 31977 Sensor Base Cover until a new sensor head can be installed.
Note: Campbell Scientific does NOT recommend using this head with an LI200RX-L. The cable used with the LI200RX-L contains a potentiometer that is trimmed to match the unique sensor head calibration. Replacing the head will give erroneous values. Both the sensor head and the cable must be sent in together for calibration.
