PDF problems

Adobe recently released a new version of Reader that is causing problems when trying to view PDFs, any PDF not just ours. The temporary solution is to try another version of Adobe; either open the PDF in a web browser or download it and view it with a local Reader. Sometimes other PDF readers, such as Foxit, work also.

 Possible symptoms:

  • Error message saying “cannot extract XYZ font."
  • PDF not searchable.
  • PDF has redacted (blacked out) content.
