Not getting good data from my Setra 278 on a new CR300

TedDarby Oct 15, 2018 05:22 PM

Had to swap out a CR200x with a CR300 this morning after the 200's serial port gave up. Everything was working fine yesterday up until then. I had Campbell update our program a couple of weeks ago for the new 300's but when I programed it and hooked up the 278 it keeps giving dumb data like the unit is not connected in the data fields.

Currently the CR300 is reporting:

BP_mb = 640.6462
BP_inHg = 18.91828
BP_psi = 9.289371

Last night the readings on the CR200 before it died were

BP_mb = 989.0448
BP_inHg = 29.20649
BP_psi = 14.34115

I am under the impression that from what I have seen and what I have read that the connections have change a bit between CR200 and CR300

Currently I have the Setra wired as follows:

Setra 278 wiring block:
Ext Trigger: Green
AGND: Yellow
GND: Black
Supply: Red
Vout: Blue

CR300:
Green: C1
Yellow: G
Black: G
Red: 12v +
Blue: SE

Any suggestions?

I have a weather station right next to this setup and it is reporting 30.11 inHg at this moment.

If you are reading 640 mB, that is near the offset. So, that would be about 0 volts. Make sure your program is turning on C1 to power up the sensor.
