Anyone know if there is an app to connect a CR1000 to an iPad? An app that works like PConnect would be pretty handy. I suppose there might be some technical issues that I'm not aware of that could make it difficult...
There is nothing currently available for iOS. We plan to release one or more mobile device apps in 2012.

i thought the ipad didnt have a usb connection, so how do we connect the datalogger to the ipad...? via itunes...?
The currently proposed connections will be IP (WiFi on the IPad to one of several possible IP connections to the logger) or Bluetooth, using a third party bluetooth to serial adaptor on the logger.

It would totally rock if there were apps that would allow me (and others) to talk to a vast array of datalogger types (we use 10X, 23X, 3000) and peripherals (we use Sat GOES HDR and TX312/320 which require configuration).
Carry one smaller all-encompassing tool rather than carry a big bulky laptop and everything associated.

Don't get your hopes up for an app that will talk to the legacy loggers (CR10X, CR23X, mentioned above).
Any idea on the timing within 2012? when, approximately? This would be a fantastic option for in field data collection.
"2012" is as specific as I can be until we get a little farther along in our development efforts.

It's been a month since anyone has raised this, has there been any more developments on the ipad/iphone campbell scientific application?
This has gone into our first round of product testing. I hope we will have something available by mid-Summer.

We do not use this forum for product information, but because the question was raised a few months ago I thought I would post.
The LoggerLink for Android App has been released to Google Play. LoggerLink supports our CR1000, CR3000, CR800 Series, and CR200 Series dataloggers that are available via an IP connection. It does not support other CSI dataloggers, and it does not support other means of communication. However, we do plan to implement Bluetooth support in a future version.
LoggerLink for iOS has been submitted to Apple and is awaiting approval. I'll post something when it is available as well.

I saw this and was excited to try the Android version on my phone... until I saw the $29.99 price tag :( Maybe when it has Bluetooth then it would be worth it.
As a person is expensive to buy an app with this price, I agree. But, as a company, we will pay a reasonable price. And also the update for those who already purchased the first version should be free or, at least, with discounts.

Will all upgrades be free once we have purchased the app?
Our expectation at this time is that upgrades will follow the model that is available for all mobile apps (or, at least all that I am aware of). When a new version is available, it will be downloaded to your mobile device automatically (unless you have an option enabled not to automatically download upgrades).

Hi,
I have a question concerning the app.
I'm in a progress of building a network using wireless CR216X data loggers. The remote data loggers will be connected via radio to the base. At the base there is IP and web server running.
Will I be able to collect values from the remote data loggers using the app?

In order for LoggerLink to work with the radio connected dataloggers, there needs to be a PakBus router of some kind connected to the "base" radio that can handle PakBus/TCP client connections. This could be a CR800 datalogger, an NL200, or an instance of LoggerNet that has a PakBus/TCP Server in its network map as well as a PakBus port connected to a serial port that in turn is connected to the "base" radio. In order for this latter option to work, the LoggerNet instance will need to be configured to have its PakBus networks bridged. The web server is not going to help here since it does not support the PakBus protocol.
In order to configure LoggerLink to use this kind of network, you will need to specify the IP address or domain name of the PakBus router and specify the PakBus address of that router as the neighbour address.
LoggerLink is now available on the App Store.

The app looks good, and potentially worth the price. Is CSI working on a way to connect to non-IP enabled loggers? I have lots of pakbus loggers in the field, but they are not connected to the internet.
Work has been done to support a bluetooth connected serial interface although changing standards and support by Apple has frustrated the effort to release that initially.

Any chance that the Android app can get passed through the Blackberry Packager for Android? For all of us government employees locked down to Blackberries and Playbooks, it'll make life a lot easier using this rather than unpacking, rebooting, waiting... with a laptop.

In order to access a datalogger from an iPad or any other iOS device, your datalogger will need to have an IP connection in some way. This can be done using an NL115 or NL120 adapter attached to the CR1000/CR8xx/CR3000 expansion port or it can be done using a netlink device such as the NL240 or NL200. Alternatively, a third part device, such as http://serialio.com/products/mobile/wifi/WiSnapAAA.php can provide this kind of connectivity.

Please count me as a vote for a Windows Phone 8 / Bluetooth version for the app. It would greatly simplify my field work!
