cr1000x OS update- trouble connecting afterward

Beckie Apr 20, 2025 12:02 AM

I just updated my cr1000x OS to 8.02. After updating the OS through device config without connecting to my PC, the power light flashes and then remains on. I then try to connect with device config, but it can not find the pack bus address. Presumably, all the setting reverted to factory default, so the pack bus address may no longer be there. I cannot connect directly or with IP.

Easiest way to get back into it is direct USB with Device Configuration Utility. The only thing that would block that is some security settings, which are off by default.

It sounds like the OS update may have reset your CR1000X’s settings, including the PakBus address, which would explain why Device Config can’t find it. When this happens, the logger can essentially become “invisible” on the network until a valid address is reassigned. If you haven’t already, try connecting directly via USB and use Device Config to scan for devices. If that doesn’t work, you might need to use the “Send OS” feature again with the correct OS file to reinitialize the connection.
