HS2 OS

v1.08

Current HS2 (Hydrosense II) firmware.

Revision History

v1.08August 28, 2020
  • Fixed a GPS rollover issue that affected some of the first batch of HydroSenseII’s (SN1000-1999). Note that not all devices were affected, but those that are show an incorrect date, even with a valid GPS fix. This update will ensure the correct date is displayed on old and new devices.
v1.07April 1, 2015
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the system to reset.
v1.06April 24, 2014
  • Fixed a bug that could cause SDI-12 to draw extra current.
  • Fixed a problem that could cause the battery level indicator to show one bar lower than it should.
v1.05January 5, 1941
  • Fixed an issue where the 5 minute and 10 minute device time out options would cause the device to shut down prematurely (40 seconds and 80 seconds respectively).
  • Expanded the length of the OS version status field from 8 bytes to 16 bytes.
  • Improved the GPS code to be compatible with an updated GPS module used in new HydroSense II boards.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the SDI-12 measurement period to be longer than required. Previously a measurement could take up to 5 seconds to complete. Now a measurement will take up to 3 seconds to complete.
v1.04January 4, 1941
  • Fixed issue with Zone detection. Previously, the HydroSense II would only support zones with discrete sizes of 3,5,10… 100m. Now the HydroSense II will support a continuously varying value of zone radius from 3m - 100m.
v1.03January 3, 1941
  • Improved zone detection code so that moving into a new zone is detected more reliably.
  • Fixed an issue where certain values for device settings could cause the PC software to be unable to retrieve and change device settings.
  • Fixed an issue where a large number of stored points (1000+) could cause a communication time out with the PC software during connect or data download.
v1.02January 2, 1941
  • Changed the flash backup process to store system configuration and file system FAT to flash only when they had changed since last boot. Previously, these were backed up on each shut down.
  • Changed the file system errors to display the file name if a write fails.
  • Made the following changes to default configuration settings: Deficit mode (old default)ON (new default)OFF, Date Format (old default)DD/MM/YYYY (new default)MM/DD/YYYY, Timezone (old default)GMT +10 (new default)GMT -7.
  • Fixed an error that could sometimes cause the GPS sync icon to be shown on the screen when the GPS was turned off.
v1.01January 1, 1941
  • Added a message to indicate that deficit data won't be stored in file system when deficit mode is turned on.
  • Fixed an error in the measurement of Period from the SDI-12 probe. Previously the Period measurement could return an incorrect value when measuring in high VWC conditions.
  • Added more resolution to the display of the Period measurement. The display will now show 3 decimal digits of resolution.
