The Theme of the 2012 USSD Conference is Innovative Dam and Levee Design and Construction for Sustainable Water Management. The responsibility of the dams and water resources community to create sustainable projects that are sensitive to environmental, social, financial, geographical and political needs of the world's population is ever increasing. Issues such as climate change, sustainability and clean energy provide significant challenges in planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of successful dam and levee projects.
