As stated on the SWS website:

The theme for the 31st annual SWS meeting, Peaks to Playas, highlights the unique and diverse wetland ecosystems of the Intermountain West and Great Basin. We are planning to integrate a broad spectrum of symposia topics with unique field trips, workshops and plenary speakers. The symposia topics will also be broadly applicable for other ecoregions, including international wetlands. With this broad theme as a base, we open a call for symposia for the 2010 meeting. We seek proposals for half-day symposia, which could be used for oral presentations, panel discussions, and/or open discussion.
