Atlanta Infrastructure/Geotechnical Instrumentation Workshop
The workshop on geotechnical and infrastructure instrumentation serves as an excellent introduction for new users or a refresher for beginners aimed at strengthening their knowledge. The training focuses on the practical applications and sensors used in geotechnical and structural monitoring markets.
Class participants will program the CR6 datalogger to automate measurements on various types of sensors used in geotechnical and structural monitoring applications. This training is also relevant to most other Campbell Scientific dataloggers.
Class size is limited to provide personalized instruction and assistance. We use hands-on programming exercises and course handouts to reinforce the concepts covered by the instructors.
Campbell Scientific will provide a CR6 datalogger, sensors, and other peripherals for the workshop. Participants will need a laptop or Windows-based tablet with a working copy of LoggerNet installed. (A one-time trial is available for download on our website.) We will break for lunch. Below is a brief outline of what will be covered:
- Overview of automated data acquisition.
- Introduction and specifications of the datalogger.
- Types of sensors and sensor outputs.
- ShortCut program generator.
- Creating and testing programs for thermocouples, thermistors, and strain gauges.
- History and overview of vibrating wire technology.
- Options for remote communication.
- LoggerNet software.
