RHQ 2026 - Congress on Hydrological Research in Quebec 2026

From the CentrEau website:

Quebec has been hit in recent years by extreme hydrometeorological events such as Storm Debby, which struck the greater Montreal area in August 2024 or the Baie-Saint-Paul floods in May 2023.

These events caused considerable damage and disrupted the lives of many citizens. They are historically unprecedented and have placed populations and infrastructure at levels of exposure and vulnerability never before seen.

This type of extreme hydrometeorological event, which threatens to strike our territories again, poses major challenges to our societies. How can we design, plan, and prepare for the improbable, the unprecedented—for events that will expose our infrastructure, our communities, and our ecosystems to historically unparalleled levels of risk?

The RHQ 2026 symposium aims to provide researchers and practitioners with an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss this crucial topic. The symposium also intends to address more traditional hydrometeorological themes, with a renewed focus on fostering collaboration and building bridges between the research community and the adaptation community.
