The 30160 is an alkaline battery pack contained in the CRVW3 Vibrating Wire Datalogger when the -ALK power supply option is selected. The 30160 is typically used when a solar panel is not needed. When a solar panel is required with a rechargeable battery, Campbell Scientific recommends using the 30162 rechargeable battery in combination with a solar panel.
