The new SP70 solar panel has a 70-W typical peak power; its predecessor, the SP65, had a 65-W typical peak power. This new solar panel recharges the usersupplied 12-V flooded battery used in systems with large power requirements, such as eddy covariance systems. An external regulator is required to connect the SP70 to the battery. Two SP70 solar panels can be attached to the same regulator to double the power output.
