The 43408-L is an Aspirated Radiation Shield that is typically used with the 43347 RTD Temperature probe.

The 43408 allows the 43347 to measure temperature with an RMS error of less than ±0.2°C. The shield is made from a white thermoplastic material that provides low thermal conductivity and heat retention.

  • Employs concentric downward facing intake tubes and a small canopy shade to isolate the temperature probe from direct and indirect radiation
  • Includes mounting brackets to attach 43408 directly to the legs of a UT20 or UT30 tower
  • For delta temperature measurements, two 43408s can be mounted to a UT20 or UT30 Instrumentation Tower; one 43408 is mounted on the mast via a 7515 Tower Aspirated Shield Mount (see illustration) and one 43408 is mounted on the tower legs at a two meter height
