The 7865 thermocouple cable is incorporated into the 229 Water Matric Potential Sensor. It consists of four 24-AWG, conductor wires. Three of the conductors are copper and one conductor is constantan. The constantan wire and one of the copper wires are combined to make a type T thermocouple. The remaining two copper wires are used to excite the heating element of the 229 sensor.
