Reset CWB100 via modem connection to CR1000

John_P Jul 18, 2016 03:06 PM

I have a CWB100 connected to a CR1000. The CWB100 is supposed to be connected to a CWS900, but it seems that the connection is not working. The CR1000 can be connected to remotely via a modem. Is there an app in Loggernet and command that I can I send to the CWB100 to restart it's function without affecting the other products connected to the CR1000 (CS215, CS655, etc.)?

The CWS900 will automatically attempt to reconnect with the CWB100.

If this is a newer installation that has not yet work, double check the OS version in the CWS900. Last yearm, there was a revision to the radio module that required an OS update in the wireless sensors to resolve connection problems.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your wireless sensors.  The CWB100 is a really reliable device.  We have never seen a need to reboot it to get things going again.  Maybe, before going down the route you propose, have you tried the CWBDiagnostics(), CWB100Routes(), and CWB100RSSI() instructions?  They will give you some pretty good diagnotisic information.  This information can give you some data to better help pinpoint the root cause of the issue.

Thanks for both of the suggestions. The CWB100 and CWS900 had been previously deployed and I don't think the update was applied. I will run the update when I get down to the site and use the other commands suggested if the connection still is still problematic.

If it ran fine for a few months without problem, you probably don't need the OS update on the CWS900.
