LoggerLink fails on a Nexus device, Android 6.0.1

Scott May May 30, 2016 03:14 AM

Hi all,

I've been able to talk through a couple of bluetooth/RS232 adapters with the current and previous versions of LoggerLink with my older phone, but I can't get a connection with any of my Nexus devices - all running Android 6.0.1

Android 6.0.1 will pair with my Bluetooth/RS232 adapters, and I can communicate through them using any random Bluetooth terminal in the Play store.

But when I use a Nexus device - Add a datalogger - select a Bluetooth device, the list always remains empty.

My local Campbell Scientific guy tested with a Samsung running 6.0 successfully, so not sure what that means.

My Nexus devices are Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus 6P.

Can anyone using a modern Nexus device please let me know if they are having success or issues with this app and Android 6.0.1

I have a Samsung S7, and the OS is 6.0.1. I will round up a BT device. Does this happen with a specific datalogger model?

Engineering is looking into this (they were already aware). The problem seems to be with Bluetooth, and with Android OS 6.0.1.

We'll figure out what is going on and get another release in place soon.

Thanks Dana :)

Glad it's not just me - listening to "Where is my mind" as I type this :)

Looks like the update that came out around 11 June 2016 has resolved this issue - well done :)
