Limiting the size of files for "Data logged since last collection"

LGS Apr 22, 2016 11:01 AM

Hi,

is it possible to limit the size of data files collected when the option "Data logged since last collection" is chosen.

The reason is that after a server crash, loggernet tried to download all the missing data at the same time. The i/o on disks was too high and finally we had to stop the scheduling and retrieve each datalogger data manually.

Another solution would be to be able to limit the number of different data collection at the same time.

Any idea?

Thxs,

The "Collect at Most" option is probably what you want. The help in Loggernet has a complete description of all the options. You can press the F1 key anywhere in Loggernet to get help on that topic.

Hi,

"Collect at Most" is not the option i want because not all the data will be collected in case of failure. The behaviour i would like to have is the one of "Data logged since last collection" but with a pause in the collection if the amount of data is too high. A stop collection command through cora script would do the job but i haven't found it. Does it exists?

In Setup on the Schedule tab take a look at "Stay On Collect Scheule," from the help:

By default, when LoggerNet has missed a scheduled collection because of some condition (i.e., LoggerNet was closed, scheduled collection was disabled, the schedule was paused from the Status Monitor, etc.), once the condition that prevented collection is no longer true, if an entire collection interval has elapsed since the last collection attempt, LoggerNet will immediately try to perform a collection. In some cases, this may not be the desired behavior. Selecting the Stay On Collect Schedule check box will cause LoggerNet to always wait until the next even Collection Interval to perform a collection.
