| 5603 | Replacement Reed Switch for TE525, TE525MM, or TE525WS |

The 5603 is for newer TE525-series rain gages that have the reed switch enclosed in a black plastic housing. A screwdriver is required to replace the switch and rewire the connections. This replacement can generally be accomplished by users who wish to perform the replacement themselves. Alternatively, an RMA may be requested from Campbell Scientific, and the switch can be replaced by one of our technicians; this option may be more viable if the rain gauge is scheduled to undergo factory recalibration at the same time.

The 16567 is offered for customers wanting factory calibration. When factory calibration is ordered, Campbell Scientific will calibrate the rain gage using a procedure similar to that described in the manual (summing the recorded tips expected given a known volume of liquid passing through the gage then adjusting the calibration based on the result). Recalibration requires an RMA (Returned Material Authorization).
Note: the funnel is not required for the recalibration process. It may be removed to save on shipping costs, but the size of the funnel is required for the recalibration process and should be supplied with the base of the gauge. |
