CR10X

Datalogger for Measurement & Control

Case Study »  Auckland Estuaries: Oceanographic Research

Project Summary

Application Type:
Monitoring the effects of cooling water disharges in an Auckland Estuary

Location:
Auckland Estuary, New Zealand

Products Used:
CR10X

Contributors:
Prof. Kerry Black, National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, Hamilton; John Radford, University of Waikato, Hamilton

Contracting Agencies:
Earth Sciences Dept. at the University of Waikato, Hamilton

Campbell Scientific dataloggers are mounted on the ocean floor and the backs of jet skis for research purposes in the estuary of Auckland, New Zealand. The research is a key part of an effort by the National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research (NIWA) and the Earth Sciences Department of the University of Waikato to model the effects of cooling water discharges, as well as measure currents, waves, and sediment movements. The dataloggers make measurements, control other research instrumentation, and provide central processing.
