CS408-L PressureSystems 500-series SDI-12 Pressure Transducers

PressureSystems 500-series SDI-12 Pressure Transducers

The CS408 is a submersible pressure transducer manufactured by Pressure Systems to measure surface water, ground water, or hostile fluid levels. Each transducer is individually calibrated, and ships with a calibration sheet. The sheet specifies I/O conditions, as well as actual data reflecting the unit’s static accuracy and thermal characteristics. A vent tube, which runs the entire length of the cable, vents to the atmosphere so the measurements do not have to be corrected for barometric pressure. A desiccant tube is included to extract water vapor from air entering the vent tube.

DB1 Double Bubbler Liquid Level Sensor

Double Bubbler Liquid Level Sensor The DB1 is a self-calibrating system that measures water level (or other liquids), such as measurement in channels and stilling wells. It detects level by measuring the pressure required to force nitrogen bubbles from a pair of submerged tubes. The orifices of the tubes are separated by a fixed vertical distance. The pressure line that is measured is determined by the datalogger, which opens and closes valves on the manifold assembly. A single pressure transducer measures each of the tubes, as well as the atmospheric pressure. This technique compensates for temperature effects and long-term drift in the transducer, producing a more accurate measurement.

CS420-L Druck PDCR 1830-8388 Submersible Pressure Transducer

Druck PDCR 1830-8388 Submersible Pressure Transducer

The CS420 submersible pressure transducer is manufactured by Druck for use in surface, ground water, or hostile fluid applications.

Changes in water level correspond to pressure changes on a strain gage bonded to a pressure-sensitive diaphragm. When a precision excitation voltage is applied, the electrical resistance varies with changing liquid pressure. Our dataloggers supply the excitation voltage and measure resistance, then convert the measured value to the desired units (i.e., pressure, depth, or level). The CS420 features a titanium body, 0.69" outer diameter, isolated diaphragm, and a vented cable. The vented cable eliminates the need to compensate for changes in barometric pressure.

CS425-L Druck PDCR 1830-8389 Submersible Pressure Transducer

Druck PDCR 1830-8389 Submersible Pressure Transducer The CS425 submersible pressure transducer is manufactured by Druck for use in surface, ground water, or hostile fluid applications. The CS425 features a titanium body, 0.69" outer diameter, isolated diaphragm, and a vented cable. The vented cable eliminates the need to compensate for changes in barometric pressure.

CS440-L ACData Sol'ns SPXD-500 4-20 mA Pressure Transducer

ACData Sol'ns SPXD-500 4-20 mA Pressure Transducer

The CS440 submersible pressure transducer is manufactured by ACData Solutions, Inc., to provide liquid level measurements in wells, lakes, streams, and tanks.

The pressure transducer uses an isolated silicon strain gauge sensor housed in a 316 Stainless Steel package. The rugged, polyurethane cable jacket remains flexible under harsh conditions. The cable incorporates a vent tube to compensate for atmospheric pressure fluctuations. The vent tube terminates inside a desiccated chamber to prevent moisture from entering the system.

The CS440 requires a current shunt resistor, such as our CURS100, to convert the CS440's 4-20 mA signal to a voltage signal that is measurable by our dataloggers.

CS445-L ACData Sol'ns SPXD-600 SDI-12 Pressure Transducer

ACData Sol'ns SPXD-600 SDI-12 Pressure Transducer The CS445 was removed from our pricing system on August 22, 2008; replacement parts remain available. The CS445 submersible pressure transducer is manufactured by ACData Solutions to provide liquid level measurements in wells, lakes, streams, and tanks. The transducer uses an isolated silicon strain gauge sensor housed in a 316 Stainless Steel package. The rugged, polyurethane cable jacket remains flexible under harsh conditions. The cable incorporates a vent tube to compensate for atmospheric pressure fluctuations. The vent tube terminates inside a desiccated chamber to prevent moisture from entering the system. The CS445 provides an SDI-12 output that can be read directly by our dataloggers.

SR50-L Ultrasonic Distance Sensor

Ultrasonic Distance Sensor

The SR50 has been replaced by the SR50A.

The SR50 is a rugged, acoustic distance sensor that is manufactured by Campbell Scientific Canada. It measures the elapsed time between emission and return of an ultrasonic pulse. This measurement can be used to determine snow or water depth. An air temperature measurement is required to correct for variations of the speed of sound in air.

VMT2 Geotivity Velocity Sensor

Geotivity Velocity Sensor

The VMT2 is a velocity sensor. It uses the Doppler effect to determine average velocity in open channels or round pipes.

The VMT2 transmits an ultrasound signal into a stream, then averages the return frequency patterns to determine velocity. It can be combined with a level sensor in a culvert or a fixed channel to calculate flow rate (flow Q= area x velocity).

About Water Level, Stage, & Flow Sensors

Water level, stage, or flow can be measured with many types of sensors: pressure transducers, bubblers, shaft encoders, or ultrasonic sensors. The location where you are measuring water level, the accuracy required, and the ease of installation all contribute to determining the best water-level sensor for your measurement site.
