Technical DescriptionThe 385 uses a 115-Vac blanket heater to provide year-round measurement of rain or snow. This sensor requires an adequately grounded, reliable ac power source. The 385 measures in 0.01" increments and has a 12" diameter orifice. It funnels precipitation into a bucket mechanism that tips and activates a reed switch when filled to its calibrated level. The switch closure is recorded by the datalogger. The 385 is compatible with all Campbell Scientific dataloggers. Before July 1994, the 385 used a cartridge heater. Met One will upgrade that cartridge heater to the blanket heater. |
