Frequently Asked Questions About our Products and Solutions

Frequently Asked Questions: Communications

  1. What is a server?

In its simplest form, a server "hears" requests and "delivers" answers. In the case of RTMC Web Server, it "hears" requests from PCs, and delivers files using hypertext transfer protocol, the language of the internet.

  2. Your price list mentions to contact CSI for assistance on antennas. Who should I contact?

Contact us via phone (435-753-2342) or email (info@campbellsci.com) and we will forward your questions to an applications engineer that can help you choose the best antenna for your system. You will need to provide information about your measurement system, such as datalogger, power supply, and telemetry preferences. Depending on the system, you will be asked about the distance between measurement stations, type of topography, location of each station, or to provide maps of the measurement area.

  3. My computer doesn't have a serial port. How do I use your equipment?

    There are several options:

    1. Use our SC-USB
    2. Use the SC32B with a #17394 cable
    3. Use your own USB interface. If you choose this option, be aware that not all commercially-available devices work correctly with our dataloggers and software.
